Three things I am LOVING right now, Part 1: Yoga
It’s the END of February and so we’re two months into 2024! I hope you are staying connected to your goals and dreams while life takes you on all of it’s twists and turns.
I wanted to take a moment to share three things that have been bringing joy and positive energy into my life in 2024, and at the top of the list is my renewed commitment to yoga, particularly with the amazing Adriene Mishler on YouTube.
1) Yoga with Adriene on YouTube
Have you ever stumbled upon something that just clicks? That's exactly how I feel about Yoga with Adriene. This year, I decided to embark on her annual January "reset," (this year it’s called “FLOW”) and for the first time, I not only started but successfully completed the month-long journey. The best part? My practice didn't stop there – it seamlessly flowed into February and hopefully beyond.
Benefits of Yoga:
Mindful End to My Day: Adriene's sessions have become a grounding ritual in my evenings, setting a positive tone for the end of my day. But you can easily make it a positive way to start your day, or even a break in the middle of your day.
Increased Flexibility and Pain Relief: With consistent practice, I've noticed a significant improvement in my flexibility and pain management, making some of my everyday movements feel more effortless.
Stress Relief: Yoga, as well as meditating, serves as my sanctuary, allowing me to release tension and find moments of tranquility amidst a busy schedule.
Mind-Body Connection: The intentional focus on breath and movement has deepened my mind-body connection, fostering a sense of inner balance.
Adriene's approach goes beyond physical postures; it's about cultivating a holistic sense of well-being. Her guidance has made my yoga journey not just a routine but a joyful and transformative experience. And the quick 20 minute sessions made it feel more attainable amidst the busyness of life.
If you’re already comfortable with doing yoga on your own and want to or prefer to venture out with other yogi’s, you might also enjoy a local gathering in downtown San Antonio. Free Community Yoga meets every Monday and Tuesday in downtown San Antonio at 6:00 pm. They also have a meditation event on Sunday’s at 2 pm that I hope to attend soon! Click that link to check out the location and dates of the events. Who knows, maybe I’ll see you there!?
Stay tuned for the next two things I'm currently loving, coming your way in the next blog post!
Until then, breathe, flow, and find your center.
With gratitude,
Valerie
